Splits

This week, we went on a split with the Assistants to the president and it was a really good split. 

In missionary work I have learned that is is all about having a lot of really normal days and just 

doing the same thing over and over again. Day after day. It is just like a work out. You just have 

to be consistent and keep doing it and that is when you will see the results. Sometimes you are 

tired and do not want to work out or go out side, but those days are when you see the most 

results because those are the days that we are showing that we love the Savior. This was my big 

realization this week. 

So when you are feeling like you do not want to pray or you do not want to read your scriptures, 

remember that you are going to be blessed the most when you show the Lord that you care and 

do it even when it is something hard to do.

I love you all and I know that God loves each and every one of you. Now show that you love Him 

through prayer, reading your scriptures, or doing something nice for one of His children. Have an 

amazing week!

Working with members

This week I finally realized the importance of working with members. You would have thought

that I would have figured this out a little bit sooner, but it just clicked for me this week. It all 

came from meeting with the investigators that we found last week. Everyone that we found 

was off the street and was found through our own efforts. Now not to say that we should not 

be doing that, but there is a better way. A lot of the time the people you find off the street 

are not the same as if it comes from a member in terms of a referral. This is the better way 

for the missionaries to receive referrals from members. It is something that I want to 

implement in my missionary work and literally just sitting down with members and doing 

referral lessons with them. That means you sit down with a members and share something 

from the scriptures. Then ask them who could you share this with. It does not end there, 

but you need to actually get them to write a few names down and then pray to decide with 

whom we are going to share this message with. So this is something that I think will help 

me in the coming weeks to get investigators that will actually progress. 

Something that I wanted to invite all of you is to find referrals for the missionaries. Do 

something that could help the missionaries. You do not know how much of an impact 

you could be in their missionary work. It really is the way to do missionary work and they 

can not do it with out you. So talk to your friends and share the joy that you have received 

from being a member of this church. 

I know that this is true and through the Lord's help you can find people that are prepared 

to hear the gospel. All we have to do is show our faith and open our mouths.

Getting the work done

So this week we got a lot of missionary work done. I can see our teaching pool growing and it is just 

so amazing to have that happen. You just have to get it growing little by little. We found 4 new 

investigators that we will be able to teach and add them into our pool. One of them was one of 

our investigator's wife and we should be able to give them both a baptismal date. Another one 

is someone who has been coming to English for a while and was interested in why we came here 

and what we were doing here. It really is a good tool to use to find people to teach. Then we found 

an investigator that is not the best, but we can still teach him... you never know when someone will 

here something that will change their life.. Oh and then we found this man in a park and we taught 

him the law of chastity surprisingly, but it was something that he needed to hear.

I do not have a ton to say because I just talked to you a lot of you last night on skype. Just read the 

Book of Mormon everyday and you will be blessed. In the words of Thomas s. Monson " If you are 

not reading The Book of Mormon.... Read it." I love you all and keep living faithful until the end.

Elder Kacher

I have just one thing that I want to talk about and then that will be it. This last week we had the opportunity 

to have Elder Larry Kacher of the seventy with us and it was quite the delight for me and the mission. Whenever 

you have someone from the general authorities it always is a delight. He talked to our mission about a couple of 

things that we can improve upon and do better. The 1st thing was to be bold. This does not just have to apply 

to missionaries, but it can apply to members too. Remember that you can also be bold. Fear is something that 

comes from Satan and we need to be bold when we come in contact with someone that can benefit from our 

message. Maybe it is a friend that you have wanted to talk to for sometime now, or whatever the whatever is. 

We all need to be bold. So that is something I will work on, but I also want you to work on it too. Then he also 

taught us of the sacredness of our callings. I always knew that I was representing Jesus Christ, but I just never 

realized the importance of my word choices. When we are representing Him we need to do it in such a way 

that would please Him. 

Other that than we had a super good lesson with one of our investigators. We went with Elder Kacher and 

President Bostrom. Just having a 70 with you makes things so much more powerful. I know that the church 

is true and that through the Book of Mormon we find that out. Read it every day. After all that is what the 

prophet said.

New week and exciting changes

So this week is something I have been looking forward to for a long time. Not because I hated my 

companion and wanted to get away from him, but it is a time for new beginnings and a time to 

refocus on the work. I love every time that transfers come around because it is a time to evaluate 

and see what we are doing well and what we can improve upon. So now my new companion is 

Elder Bergeson. He is from Orem and is a really good missionary. I can tell that we are going to 

do a lot of good work together. This week we were doing some less active finding is an American 

neighborhood. It is pretty unusual to see a neighborhood like you would see in America. They had 

front yards and they had back yards, they even had a BBQ grill. When you were walking through 

there you just felt like you were in America. So we were walking through there trying to find this 

house and it took us quite a while because we did not know the place at all. We were just talking 

to some people and we meet this teenager who was 15 years old who was half American and half 

Armenian. It really cool to be able to speak English with someone and talk with someone that has 

the same mindset as we do. Armenians are very different than Americans. It does not mean that 

they are bad, but just different. So this kid was able to show us to the house and the right place. 

However, the less actives were not home at the time. That is when the miracle happened, when 

we were on our way out Elder Bergeson waved a car down and this man gave us a ride home and 

we were able to talk to him a little about our church. It was super cool to meet someone that was 

totally self-reliant and that lived in a place like that. I might be getting too excited over this, but it 

really is cool to meet someone like that in Armenia because it does not happen every day.

Keep doing what is right and always remember what is important in life and the Lord.
